Delmer Allen

Delmer “DA” Allen, 78, passed away peacefully and quietly on Friday,
January 18, 2013 in the Wesley Wood Retirement Center after a six month illness.
Services will be held Friday January 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM at OakCrest Funeral
Home in Waco, TX.

Delmer was born October 7, 1934 in Kingsville, TX to Jonathan Alonzo and Maude
Lou Griggs Allen. Delmer was owner / manager of Allen Food's Grocery Store in
Kingsville as well as owner/manager of the Casa Ole restaurant in Bellmead TX
with his son, Mark He was a gentle man and loving father. He was an even tempered
and treated all he met fairly and with respect.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tammy Allen; five brothers,
Charlie, Oscar, CT, Junior and Mayo; and one sister, Ruth Jones.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Allen and wife, Susan of Hewitt, TX, and Lon Allen
and wife, Marle of Tampa, Fl.; sister, Dorothy Brodine of Lorena, TX; and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Alonzo, Andrea, and Alysa Allen; He also is survived
by 3 step-sons, Laddy Brown of Victoria, Robert Brown of College Station and John
Brown of San Antonio.
