Life Lessons Deloris Taught Us
The joy of work
Deloris was a devoted employee who loved her job. One of her prized possessions was a Texas shaped pendant commemorating 25 years of service. Working hard outside the office as well, she enjoyed taking on a challenge around the house or helping out wherever needed.
Hospitality
Everyone was welcome for a meal or an overnight stay or even longer. Extended family gathered for many happy holiday occasions at "Aunt Deloris' house."
Patience
She loved young people and patiently encouraged them. Mistakes were never punished and her tone was gentle.
Enthusiasm for life
Deloris was active. She loved sports and cheering for her teams. She loved the outdoors, especially trips to the lake to ski or fish. She loved travel and never hesitated to go on a road trip. She'd say "Come on, let's go!" and be off on a shopping trip or a visit.
Love for God expressed as love for others
If Deloris saw a need she would do what she could to meet it. She was warm hearted and generous often in unexpected and quiet ways.
[i]We thank God for her life and example.
We will always cherish her memory.
