Denise Perry

Denise Michele Zilem Perry (aka) Necee, beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 23, 2023. Her departure leaves an immense void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Denise's unconditional love, compassionate spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and loved ones will forever be cherished.

Born on June 9, 1967, in Waco TX, Denise was the loving daughter of Michael Zilem and Nelda (Sharp) Zilem. From a young age, she exhibited a nurturing nature, always caring for those around her. Denise's greatest joy in life came from being a mother to her two daughters, Crystal Perry and Ashlee Perry. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, instilling in them the values of kindness, empathy, and resilience.

Denise & her loving husband Raymond Perry had a one-of-a-kind relationship, love doesn’t exist like the love the two of them had for each other. They were nicknamed Bonnie and Clyde. A true definition of happily ever after.

Denise's motherly love extended beyond her immediate family. She opened her heart and home to others, offering guidance, support, and a safe haven for those who she loved. She helped bring up Jamie Sheffield and Iris Falcon. Many individuals were blessed to have Denise as a mother figure, benefitting from her wisdom, love, and care. She selflessly embraced them as her own, shaping their lives with her unwavering devotion.

Denise's role as a grandmother brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her grandkids lovingly called her "MawMaw," a name that held a special place in her heart. She doted on them, showering them with affection, laughter, and cherished memories. Denise's presence in their lives was a source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Beyond her role as a devoted family woman, Denise was known for her kind and compassionate nature. She had a genuine ability to connect with others, offering a listening ear, a comforting embrace, and words of encouragement. Her warm smile and infectious laughter could brighten the darkest of days, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Denise leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Raymond Perry; daughters, Crystal Perry and Ashlee Perry; grandchildren, Alyssa Morris, Dalton (Trey) Morris, Michael Morris, Aaliyah Hamby, Shawn Hamby, and Whitleigh Hamby; great-grandchildren, Kylie Ramon and Journee Morris; and the many lives she touched along her journey. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she loved.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, November 3, 2023 at OakCrest Funeral Home to celebrate the life of Denise Michele Zilem Perry. The burial will be directly after at Oakwood Cemetery. In honor of her memory, the family requests that donations be made to Ashlee Perry.

Denise's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace and may her family and loved ones find solace in the beautiful memories they shared with her.
