Denise Kay Warrick, 49, of Cego, passed away Friday, February 24, 2006 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Victorious Life Church, 7459 South I-35, in Hewitt with Pastor Kevin Harrison officiating, assisted by Rev. Wayne Stork. Burial will follow in the Cego Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Denise was born February 29, 1956 to Bill and Helena Boswell. She married Randy Warrick on August 25, 1984 in Dallas. She has lived in this area since 1986, and was a member of the Victorious Life Church and the Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church. She was a housewife, bookkeeper, and paralegal. She worked at the Avalon Center for Girls in Eddy, and raised two foster children from the home.
She was involved in Girl Scouts, 4H, FFA, PTA, Athletic Booster Club, a volunteer at the Eddy Senior Citizens Center, and the M.D.A. Telethon. She will be greatly missed by the kids from Bruceville-Eddy and the youth groups at VLC, especially her cooking.
She loved animals, and treated her pets as if they were her children. She helped rescue and find homes for many strays. She was a member of the Beefmaster Breeder Association and the American Bork Goat Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Cindy Boswell.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Randy; daughters, Cynthia Brooke Warrick and Ellisa Courtney Jo Warrick, Anderson Markus Warrick III, all of Cego; parents-in-laws, Ellis and Gloria Warrick of Cego; brothers-in-law, Mike and Susan Warrick of Blevins and David and Kathy Warrick of Oglesby; brother, Victor Boswell and wife, Christiene of Eddy; nieces and nephews, Kacey Warrick, Brandon Warrick, Wesley Warrick, Keven Warrick, Sara Warrick, Ellis Warrick, Emily Warrick, J.R. Boswell, and Jessie Boswell; cousin, Becky Boswell of Louisiana and best friends, Patty Simmel of Denton and Hope Armstrong of Bruceville-Eddy.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Warrick, Wesley Warrick, Kevin Warrick, Cody Joiner, Danny Thredgill, Charlies Bryant, Clayton Cepak, Joseph Elder, Isaac Elder, Sean Sammon, Bobby Patterson and Bobby Waller. Honorary pallbearers will be the Eddy FFA and the Victorious Life Youth Group.
The family gives special thanks to Odyssey Hospice, especially her nurse, Lucy, friends at Victorious Life Church and Eddy Methodist Church, and our loving family and special friends in Bruceville-Eddy.
Memorials may be made to the Bruceville-Eddy FFA Scholarship Fund, % Sean Sammon, Agriculture instructor, Burceville-Eddy Schools.
