Dennis Keeton

Dennis Keeton, 58, of Waco, passed away suddenly July 21, 2013, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Bert Mercer of Brookview Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 24, at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco,

Dennis was born June 22, 1955 in Temple, to Gladys and Herman Keeton. After graduating high school, Dennis joined the United States Army in 1974. After serving his country, Dennis was honorably discharged in 1980. For the last 24 years, he owned Keeton’s Auto Service on the corner of 18 Street and Franklin. Up until the day he died, Dennis worked countless hours at the shop, providing for his family.

Dennis was the ultimate family man. He married the love of his life, Doreen, in 1985, and together they raised four children. Dennis’s heart and soul resided with his family.

Dennis is preceded in death by his mother and father; son, Darrell Joe Keeton; niece, Kristie Gonzalez; and nephew, Eric Keeton.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Doreen; four children, Ginger, Britney, Hollie and Zach; one grandchild, Kenzie; five sisters, Libby, Elaine, Linda, Wanda, and Peggy; one brother, Billy, with whom he owned and operated Keeton’s Auto Service, and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Pallbearers will be Zach Keeton, Shane Keeton, Evan Jones, Randy Hill, Jason Rice, and Billy Wayne Hill.
