Dickie Lee Lide
July 2, 1953 - March 2, 2012
Mr. Dickie Lee Lide , age 58, of Axtell, passed away at his home March 2, 2012. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Dickie was born and raised in Mexia, where he went to school and graduated in 1971. Dickie then entered TSTC that same year and graduated in Radio and Television Repair and opened his business in Mexia.
He met Lisa Dugan at a red light in Groesbeck on May 18, 1973. They quickly fell in love and were married 2 months later on August 3rd.
Dickie began his career as an educator at TSTC in 1977 where his specialty was Television Repair and Industrial Education. He continued his education at Tarleton State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Education in 1986. In 1987 he was promoted to Program Chairman over the Radio / Television department at TSTC.
He retired from TSTC in 1997 and then pursued his broker license in Real Estate, as well as a career in insurance and mutual funds.
Dickie was a great man who was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He lived his life as a loving husband, terrific son, great father, and wonderful paw-paw. He loved to play golf, spend time with his family, and watched Fox news.
He was preceded in death by his father John Ross (Dick) Lide.
SURVIVORS
Dickie is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years, Lisa Lide; his mother, Audie Mae Lide; one son, Richard Lide and wife Delta; two daughters, Kim Hebbe and husband Chris, and Staci Baffetti and husband Massimo; his grandchildren who knew him as paw-paw, Zach, Devyn and Kaity Hebbe, Max Baffetti, Ashley and Danielle Kerns, Cayla, Alyson and Kevin Lide, and a great-grandchild, Andrea Goetz.

Pallbearers will be Mike Dugan, Lanny Dugan, Dusty Dugan, Jimmy Baldwin, James Baldwin, and Marc Carl.
