Don L. Pace, 79, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in a Waco hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Waco Memorial Park by Bro. Lance King. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.

Don was born September 12, 1933 in Eddy to Lannus and Virgie (Higgins) Pace. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was married in 1957 to Juanita “Vicki” Pace who preceded him in death in 2002. Don graduated from Baylor University as an accountant, and worked for Central Transportation for 50 years as General Office Manager and later as Comptroller. He was a 32nd degree Mason. Don loved spending time daily on his houseboat at Lake Waco Marina, and he enjoyed his many friends there. He and friend Bob Hagar spent many hours working on each other’s boats. Don was known for cooking bar-b-q for his lake neighbors, and sharing books. He was a loving husband and father and a good friend who will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Curtis and Marshall; and sister, Florine.

He is survived by his son, Rob Pace of Waco; brother, Kenneth Pace and wife Margaret of Mesquite; niece, Misty Diserens; special friend, Sandy Turk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
