Donald Hollinger

Don "Sarge" Hollinger, 70, of Waco, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at his residence. Graveside services with full military honors will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Chapel Hill Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 4901 Lake Shore Drive, with Rev. Richard Roland officating.

Don was born April 11, 1941 in Fairfield, Illinois to Ray Ernest Hollinger and Laura Timmins Hollinger. He served in the US Navy and Active Duty Texas Army National Guard retiring after 20 years of service in 1995. Don had a love for nature and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and bird watching. He loved watching John Wayne movies. Don was a member of Central Christian Church in Waco for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don is served by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Hollinger of Waco; son, Dr. Joshua Hollinger and wife, Marie of San Antonio; daughter, Rev. Dr. Laura Odiorne and husband, Ryan of Burleson; two grandsons, James and Joshua Odiorne; and his sister, Phyllis Pope of Bryan.
