Donald Alonzo Lape , of Waco, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be held at OakCrest Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 2. at 6:30 pm and visitation to follow until 8 pm, also at to be held at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Donald was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Johnstown, PA, to James Alonzo Lape and Eileen-Joan Lape. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was also a cartographer for the City Of Waco for many years.
Donald’s many hobbies included woodworking, astronomy, and sitting on the back porch in prayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Eileen-Joan Lape.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Lape; his two sons, Joshua J. Lape and Timothy A. Lape; and daughter, Heather L. Morris and husband, Jay Morris; sister, Lee Cornwell and husband, Steve; and 3 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Lape, Keith Macy, Ed Macy, Ed Arredondo, Tony Raineri, and Bobby Jetelina.
Memorials may be made to Cameron Park Zoo or St. Jerome Catholic Church.
