Dora Benedum, 67, of China Spring, passed away from the results of an automobile accident January 3, 2008 in Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at OakCrest Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Rick Cobb of the Journey Christian Community Church in China Spring. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Dora was born June 19, 1940 in Derma, Mississippi. She married Al Benedum on February 5, 1975. Dora was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and volunteering her time at church caring for the babies in the nursery. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
Dora is survived by her loving husband of 32 years; son, Chip Weiser and wife, Heather of China Spring; daughters, Vickie Schroeder and husband, Randy of Enid, Oklahoma, Annette Williams and husband, Danny of Waukomis, Oklahoma, Christie Riley and husband, Scott of Alva, Oklahoma and Denise Jackson and husband Sherman of Simpson, Louisiana; sisters, Annie Neal of Senatobia, Mississippi, Mertie Gilkerson and husband, Harry of Cabot, Arkansas, Mary Umphrey and husband, Art of Haines City, Florida and Ouida Selman of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brothers, Bill Hamby and wife, Molly of Albany, Georgia, Harold Hamby and wife, Joanne of Lauder Valley, Mississippi, Jay Hamby and wife, Carol of Southerland, Oregon and Steve Hamby and wife, Monica of Alexandria, Virginia. Dora was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren.
