Doris Jean Driska
March 2, 1954 – October 7, 2007

Doris Jean Driska, 53, of Waco passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at a local Hospital. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque blvd.

Doris was born on March 2, 1954 in Fort Hood to Willie B. and Ella Marie (Stasny) Driska. She graduated from Richfield High School in Waco and later continued her education at Baylor University where she received her Bachelors and Master degree with honors. For the past eighteen years she worked at the V.A. Regional office. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor. Doris enjoyed traveling and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Rosie Stasny, Willie J. and Leona Driska, Loyce and James Benight and her aunt Julia Barrington.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Lori Schigut and husband Lee of Killeen; grandchildren, Dylan Schigut, Drake and Danielle Howe; her parents, Willie and Ella Marie Driska; sister, Rosanne Glinski of Temple; brothers, Willie B. Driska, II of Waco, Frank Driska and wife Therese of Rockwall; aunt, Betty Belcher and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you to Providence Hospice staff, Dr. Nick Schwedock, Dr. Christopher Grant and the staff of four north at Providence Hospital.
