Doris H. Konvicka, 82, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, beginning with a Rosary recited by Ronnie Sykora followed by Funeral Mass officiated by Father Cyril Ejaidu and Father Isidore Rozycki at the St. Catherine’s Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Penelope, TX. Music will be provided by Stephanie Hinton.

Doris was born and raised in West, Texas. She graduated from West High School and 4-C Business College. She married Ernest A. Konvicka on August 13, 1952. Doris began working at the V.A. Regional Office, and later as an administrative assistant at the V.A. Hospital in Waco. She loved cooking and baking, and volunteering at St. Louis Catholic Church. She kept her family first and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Doris was a kind, caring, compassionate and loving person who enjoyed giving more than receiving. Doris was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She held in her heart her children, grandson and wife, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Konvicka, SR; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Wood McKelvain and husband, Donald; son, Ernest A Konvicka, JR and wife, Jodie; grandson, CDR Jason L. Wood and wife, Susan; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Ryan; nieces, Dolores Prince, Lisa Pavelka and husband, Mark; nephew, Ernest “Sonny” Bezdek, JR and wife, Renee; brother, Ernest L. Bezdek, SR and wife, Evelyn; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Bezdek, JR, Mark Pavelka, Ken Price, James McKnight, Marvin Matus, and Jimmy Holacka.

Special Thanks to the Alzheimer’s Association, the 1st Floor Staff at St. Catherine’s and Providence Hospice.
