Doris Ellen Lowery, 75, of Waco passed away early Monday, April 27, 2015. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, April 30, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 pm, Friday, May 1, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Doris was born December 11, 1939 in Temple, Texas to James and Lorene Davis. She grew up there and attended Temple High School.When she was a child, she enjoyed spending time with her Grandmother at their farm in Cedar Creek.

In December 1963, Doris married the love of her life, Johnny Lowery. She spent her life caring for her husband, son, extended family and her pets. She was an avid Baylor football fan, never missing a home game with her husband. She was a very active shopper and enjoyed collecting items year round for various charities such as Toys for Tots, Food for Families and Shoe Box Christmas. Doris loved going to brunch almost daily with her daughter-in-law, Jean and what became a tradition for brunch everySaturday open to all of her grandkids, great grandkids & family friends. She cherished her times spent with all of her family.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, James Davis; husband, Johnny Lowery; daughter, Carolyn Ann Conley.

Survivors include her mother, Lorene Davis; brother and sister in law, James Davis and Lucille; sisters, Mary Stanford, Dorothy Stephens and husband, Jerry; LaNelle Mersiovsky and husband Orlando; son, James Conley Jr. and wife, Jean, her caregiver, best friend, and partner in crime; grandchildren, Michelle Sanchez and husband, John; William Caldera and wife
Shannon; SFC Matthew Caldera and wife Rachel; Michael Mullins; great-grandchildren, Mariana Sanchez, Ciana Sanchez, John Sanchez, Brayden Gant and William Caldera; many, many nieces, nephews and "Framily".

Pallbearers will be Jimmy LaVelle, William Caldera, Michael Ellis, Michael Mullins, John Sanchez Jr., Jimmy Davis. Honorary Pallbearer, SFC Matthew Caldera.

In lieu of flower the family ask that you donate to the American Diabetes Association.
