Doris Swartz, 89, of Waco, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Waco, at 10 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 4.
Graveside services will be held later at York Cemetery in Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, Waco, Texas.
A native of Roswell, Ohio, she lived in Beaumont for 52 years. She moved to Waco in 2001 to be near her family. She retired from the Beaumont Independent School District in 1982 after 27 years of service. She was a secretary at French Elementary School and at the B.I.S.D. Central Office.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Beaumont for over 50 years and was a member of the Alpha Omega Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Swartz, in 1964, a grandson and a step-grandson.
Survivors include two sons, William Swartz and wife, Dee of Littleton, Col., and Gregory Swartz and wife, Donna of Waco; four grandchildren, a step grandson, and six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives
