Dorothy "Dot" Ewing

Dorothy "Dot" Ewing, 79, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Van Vowell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Dot was born November 7, 1926 in Lorena to Lark and Ada (Henson) Ragan. She was married on November 7, 1945 in Waco to Ben G. Ewing. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was the co-owner of the Jackson Tool and Machine Service in Waco for 51 years, and was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed bowling and sewing, especially making overall dresses.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Reid and husband, Gary (G.D.) of Waco; grandson, Brian Martin and wife, Krista of Waco; granddaughter, Rene' Campbell of Waco; step-grandson, Aaron Reid of Hewitt; step-granddaughter, Kerri Hayes and husband, Randall of Robinson; great grandsons, Grant Cooper and Randy Hayes; and great granddaughters, Brianna Martin, Emma Martin, Macy Cooper, and Makayla Campbell, a nd a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ken Bolen, Gary (G.D.) Reid, Brent Cooper, Jon Summers, Larry Thompson, Mel Warren, George Compton, and Dewey Cooper.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ross Shipp, Dr. W. Falcone, NP Sherri Davidson, Dr. Robert Anderson, Dr. Edward Contreras, Dr. Day, Healthwise Home Health, Hillcrest Lifeline, Hillcrest Hospice, Texas Home Health, and Hillcrest 4A Nursing staff for the care and support you gave to her over the last year.
