Dorothy Mashburn

Dorothy Faye Archer Mashburn, 90 of Waco, Texas passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020. Private graveside services were at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Waco Memorial Park, with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.

Mrs. Mashburn was born in Anson, Jones County, Texas on September 27, 1929, to Martin Luther and Josephine (Fulgham) Archer. She attended schools in Anson and completed her education graduating with a bachelor’s degree in health science. She met Bobby Mashburn and he became the love of her life, and they married in Abilene on December 3, 1949, and they shared 61 wonderful years together until his passing in April 3, 2010. She worked for the State of Texas and MHMR in Waco for many years. In her work, she helped many young ladies in the challenges in their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bobby; son, Robert (Rusty) Mashburn; grandson, Duane Mashburn; and son-in-law, Gary Willie.

Mrs. Mashburn is survived by her wonderful children; daughter, Karla Willie; and son, Mike Mashburn and wife Brenda; granddaughters; Tracy Allen and husband Reginald, and Stephanie Willie; grandsons; Michael Mashburn and wife Christy, and Evan Mashburn; and four loving great grandchildren.

The family express their sincere gratitude to the nurses of Baylor Scott & White Hospital, 3rd and 4th floors for their excellent care and love for Mrs. Mashburn.
