Dorothy Rose Lopez Morales, 78, of Waco, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 in the comfort of her home. The procession to Oakwood cemetery for the graveside service will depart 9 a.m. Friday, May 18 from OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Visitation will start at 6 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
Dorothy was a native of Waco, she traveled and lived in many places but came home in 2005 to live her final years. She married Jose A. Morales on January 14, 1974. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was centered around her family and friends, she will leave many fond and precious memories for them to remember. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, playing BINGO and working on puzzles, she was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her son, Arthuro Pena; her parents John and Regina Lopez; her sisters Elvera Lopez, Delores Gaiton and Anna Marie Sandoval; and her brother John R. Lopez Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jose' A. Morales; three daughters Mina Sanchez, Norma Pena Divine, Sandra K. Loa; two sons Manuel Pena Jr. and Thomas Moses Morales; sisters, Connie Espinoza and Santos Lopez; brothers Alex Lopez and Joe Lopez; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the Military Order of Purple Heart, Chapter 4077, Waco, Texas.
The Family expresses their appreciation to Providence Hospice and the Family Practice Center on 18th and Gurley Streets.
Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
