Dorothy Ann Tims O'Malley went to be with her Lord on March 6, 2014.
Dorothy was a retired Loan Guaranty Officer from the VA Regional Office. She was 90 years young.
Dorothy's Celebration of her life will be 10 am Tuesday, March 12, at First Baptist Church of Waco. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. Dr. Matt Snowden, Dr. Randall Perry and Dr. Larry Maddox will officiate.
Visitation will be 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, TX 254-772-5272.
Dorothy was born January 20, 1924 to Ola Christine and Roy Alfred Tims on McLennan Ranch, McLennan County near Waco, Texas.
Dorothy will be dearly missed, her warm smile and ready friendship touched the lives of all who knew her. Dorothy was loved by all. She loved her family time, and wonderful fun family parties. As well as her special trips with her daughters. She received great joy from her 70 years at First Baptist Waco. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Past Matron of McLennan Chapter # 639 Order of Eastern Star. She was "Miss Manners" for Miss Jane's Preschool and delighted in teaching the 4 year old class their proper manners.
She was a lifelong fan of all things Baylor! Dorothy was a Tip Off Club Member and a passionate follower of her Lady Bears Basketball Teams! She attended the Baylor Men's only final four in 1948. And saw the Lady Bears win The National Championship in 2005 as well as attended the Final Four in 2010 in San Antonio.
Her greatest joys were her children, Sharon, Jane, David and Bobby and their spouses; Ronnie, Allen and Nancy, her eight grandchildren, Chriss Coats, Lori Coats, Tina Schornack Carroll, Michael Schornack, Robert Schornack, Jonathan O'Malley, James O'Malley, and Elizabeth O'Malley Twedell, and twelve soon to be thirteen great-grandchildren, Gracie, Newt, Katie Claire, Haylee Jane, Will, Carson Jane, Maggie, Mathew, Madelynn, Roxie, Kathryn, and Braydon.
Dorothy was "Mimi" to her grandchildren and they all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sons Bobby and David.
