Dorothy Lee Gordon Pense
March 23, 1931 – July 1, 2012

Dorothy Lee Gordon Pense, 81, of Waco, went to be with our Lord after an intense
battle with cancer on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Her family was with her with she passed way. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 6, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Miller officiating. The burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Thursday, July 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.

Dorothy was born March 23, 1931 in Waco to Leroy and Emma Jacobs, who preceded her in death. She was married for many years to Norman Gordon and they had three sons, Russell of Canton, Georgia, Michael of Hubbard, and Stephen of Waco. Norman also preceded her in death, as did her sister, Bernice Deckard.

After high school graduation, she graduated from Business College, and worked as a secretary for many years, retiring as an employee of the Federal Government. She lived In the Waco/Bellmead area her entire life, and was a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ. Her beautiful and indominatable spirit will be missed by her many friends and family.

She is survived by her sons Russell and his partner Meg Sapp, Michael and his wife Connie, and her son Stephen, as well as grandchildren, Bradly, Marcus, Malinda, Michael Wayne, Christopher, and Jennifer Gordon, 11 great-grandchildren, and her nieces, Janice Derrickson and Diane Jones and nephew, Alan Deckard.
