Douglas C. Miller
October 17, 1937 – November 5, 2023
Douglas Craig Miller of Waco, Texas passed away at the age of 86 on November 5, 2023. After declining health, Doug passed peacefully at his home in Waco with his family by his side.
Doug was born in Waco, Texas on October 17, 1937, to Lester (Jack) Miller and Sarah Bernice Miller.
Doug graduated from Waco High School in 1955. He graduated from Baylor University in 1959. Doug served in the US Army National Reserve. After leaving the Army, Doug went to work for Boeing Commercial Electronics which later became BAE Systems. He was a Senior Procurement Agent at that company for nearly 30 years.
Doug is survived by his sister, Lillian “Sissy” Foster (Steve); sister in law, Charlotte Miller; nephew, Craig Miller; nieces, Shellye Smith (Roger), Patti McDaniel (“Mac”), Pam Smartt (Casey) and Paula Durocher (Dana); great nieces, Taylor, Tobye, and Danielle; great nephews, Josh, Andrew, Austin (Sheila), Dakota (Kendra), Tayt (Naomi), Rhodes, Foster, and Colby; and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his older brother, Jack S. Miller.
One of Doug’s favorite places was his brother’s cabin in the White Mountains of Arizona. He loved fishing and gathering at the cabin with his family over the 4th of July for family reunions and parades. Doug also loved his Baylor Bears! He was a very active Baylor Alumni. He held season tickets to nearly every Baylor sporting event.
