Durwood Davenport, 63, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at a local hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Leibham as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with visitation to follow. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown.
Durwood was born March 4, 1944 in Rosebud to Virgil and Velma (Burgess) Davenport. He married the love of his life, Betty Morris, on June 6, 1964 in Marlin. Durwood was an insurance agent for many years with the American National Insurance Company before retirement.
Durwood is survived by his wife, Betty Davenport of Waco; son, Michael Davenport of Waco; daughters, Carolyn Swor and husband Allen of Waco and Elizabeth Busch and husband Thomas of China Spring; grandchildren, Timothy, Krystal, Michael Jr., Kristen and Martin Davenport, Ashley "Tabitha", Anna and Amber Busch, and Sarah "Jean" Swor; brother, Harold Davenport of Marlin and their children, Gary Paul Davenport, Sherri Tomachensen and Lisa Jeffrey, and many cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ray Praesel, Timothy Davenport, Allen Swor, Javier Comancho, Scott Perry, Tommy Yobarro, David Shook and Josh Mayfield.
Special thanks to Dr. Coleman, Dr. Attas, CHF Clinic, the Cardiac Unit and the Providence ICU nurses.
