Ed Lee Hughes, 84 of Waco passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at a local care center. Services are 10:00 am Monday, June 20, 2005 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Dr. James Leo Garrett officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Ed was born on September 9, 1920 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Greer and Ivor (Ward) Hughes. Ed met and married the love of his life, Alma Virgina Wilson. He was in the Air Force serving during WWII and Korea.

Ed is survived by his wife Alma V. Hughes of Waco; daughters, Kathryn Bowersox of Waco, Nancy Garrett and husband Paul of Austin and Debbie Wilk and husband Craig of Lorena; brother, Johnny Hughes of Oklahoma; sisters, Evelyn Taylor and Connie Young both of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Richie Roper, Jake Roper, Annelise Wilk all of Lorena.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ed's grandsons, Richie and Jake Roper.
