Eddie Ray Silva, 63 of Waco, entered into the arms of our Savior on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday October 7th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, celebrated by the Very Rev. C. Benjamin Magnaye, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 pm to 8 pm, with Rosary service at 7 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in the Chapel at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Eddie Ray was born in Waco, Texas on August 31st, 1958, to mother Emilia Vasquez and father Ernest Silva. Eddie graduated from University High School, and attended a few semesters at T. S. T. I. in 1977, for Basic Welding, Fiber Glass and Body Repair. He spent over 31 years working in the printing and design field of the corrugated box industry; working at Lux Ltd from 1985 to 1997, then at Englandeer Container from 1998 until 2016.
He became ill later in life and struggled with health issues until called home. He was a loving husband to his loving wife, the love of his life, Jackie for over 32 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and working and detailing his beloved 1986 Dodge Truck. He was always ready to help those in need giving time and resources.
With his marriage to Jackie Slavik Silva, he was introduced to a loving family; Jackie’s parents, three wonderful brother-in-laws and a sister-in-law, that loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his, mother, Emilia Villafana, in 2012, father, Ernest Silva in 1957, grandmother, Ysabel Vazquez, beloved grandfather, aunts, uncles, and many cousins over the years.
Eddie Ray is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Ann Silva; brother, Armando Amado Villafana; step-father, Domingo Villafana, all of Waco; and many wonderful in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
Pallbearers are Rudy Juarez, Jose V. Hernandez, Richard Perez, Manuel Gutierrez, Danny fuentes, and Joseph Villafana.
Honorary Pallbearers are Josh G. Lechler, Johnny Villafana, Sr., and Eric Fuentes.
