Edith Brewer

Edith May Brewer, 91, of Waco, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011in Waco. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Edith was born December 26, 1919 in Clarksville, Texas to Lonnie Jeff Davis Roten and Frances Harriet Shoftner Roten. She married Marshall H. Brewer December 24, 1935 and enjoyed 75 years of marriage. Edith was employed with the Andrews School District for over 24 years and was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church. She was a resident of Andrews County for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall H. Brewer; three sons, Charles W. Brewer and wife, Martha of Waco, James H. Brewer of Dallas and Richard A. Brewer and wife, Kathleen of McKinney; two brothers, Joe and Louis Roten; one sister, Mamie Johnson; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
