Edna Earle Reeves, 90, of Waco, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with William Aman officiating.

Edna was born near Tyler, Texas on January 7, 1922 to Harry S. and Grace Faglie Reeves. She attended Tyler schools through Junior High School at which time the family was transferred to Waco, Texas. She entered Waco High and graduated in the class of 1940. She always enjoyed school and was an excellent student. She probably holds some kind of record for not missing a single day of school from the first grade through high school.

She attended Business School in Waco and after graduation taught shorthand and bookkeeping for a year and then started to work at Goldstein-Magels for some two years prior to her employment at the Citizens National Bank. She probably never dreamed that she would retire from the bank forty-five years later. She held a number of positions in the bank, but the job of vault custodian was her favorite, She enjoyed waiting on and visiting with her safe deposit customers for many, many years.

She was active in the American Institute of Banking, a nationwide banking organization, for most of her years in the bank. She served as secretary of the local chapter for several years and was chairwoman of the local Women's Committee. She was named "Outstanding Committee Chairman" for the years 1966 and 1967 of district 6, which takes in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. From a young age she was active in her church and taught a Sunday School Class of young people for several years.

She is predeceased by her parents, one sister, Leta F. Federwisch, sister-in-law, Jeannine Bell Reeves, a niece, Judy Federwisch Holze.

She is survived by one sister, Billie Reeves Purvis, brother-in-law, Alex Federwisch, both of Waco, and brothers, Calvin B. Reeves, Ennis, Texas and Irvin H. and wife Kathryn A. (Kay) Robertson Reeves of Houston. She is also survived by nieces Janet L. Purvis Edwards and husband Tim, Nancy K. Reeves Jungman and husband John, Linda L. Reeves Walker and husband Mike. Nephews, Robert Purvis and wife Gayle, Robin Reeves and wife Theresa, Dr. Rustin Reeves and wife Sandy, Richard (Ric) Federwisch and wife Heather and Larry Holze.

Memorials may be directed in Edna's memory to "Give A Hand Up Fund" in care of First Methodist Church, 4901 Cobbs Drive Waco, Tx 76710.
