Edward Leon Puryear, 83, passed away Monday, Sept. 24 in the Woodland Springs Nursing Home. Graveside Services will be held Wed, Sept. 26, at 11:00 AM in Waco Memorial Park, conducted by Jeremy Connell, pastor of Heart of Texas Cowboy Church. Family visitation will be Tues, Sept. 25 from 6 – 7 PM at OakCrest Funeral Home
Leon was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Paris, Texas to Oscar Leon and Mabel Woods Puryear. He had lived in California and Arizona for many years, before moving back to Texas. He was a farmer and member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Arlon and Dale Puryear and sister, Geneva Slagle
Leon is survived by 2 brothers, Gale Puryear and wife, Brenda of Waco, Joe Puryear of Bellmead; 2 sisters, Colleen Black and husband, Clyde of Axtell, Shirley Couch and husband, William of Hubbard and several nieces and nephews.
