Edward Sanchez, Sr., 57, of Waco, passed away September 3, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Deacon Jesse C. Garza officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.
Edward was born in Waco to Hilario and Frances (Garcia) Sanchez and lived here all of his life. He attended University High School. After working 15 years at Central Texas Iron Works as a welder-fitter, he has since worked as a welder at Diversified Product Development where he had many friends. He has owned and operated E&C Carpet Installation for the past 25 years. Edward loved barbequing, spending time with his family, and faithfully watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hilario Sanchez; brothers, Andrew, David and Mario Sanchez; and a brother-in-law, Albert Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gonzales Sanchez; children, Patricia Salas, Joe Castro Jr., Edward Sanchez Jr., Frances Castro, Dennis Sanchez, Richard Castro, Michael Ratliff, Crystal Ratliff, and Matthew Garcia; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Frances Sanchez; sisters, Rosa Gonzales and Connie Sanchez; brothers, Johnny Sanchez and Adam Ratliff; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Sanchez, Milton Crespo, Fabian Alonzo, Guillermo Bautista,
Lino Fabela, and Victor Juanez.
