Edwin (Bubba) Joseph Narovec, 63, of Lorena, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 2, 2003, in the VA Hospital in Temple.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Marvin Dornak as celebrant.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, July 4, in the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel, 4520 Bosque. Visitation with the family will follow until 9 p.m.

Ed was born January 21, 1940, to Edvin and Minnie (Kotrla) Narovec in Waco, and lived here all of his life. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1968. He worked at Piggly Wiggly Food Store and General Dynamics before going into business for himself operating the Lake Air Texaco for more than 20 years before retiring. He also worked with one of his best friends, John Bivona, at Praco Pawn Shop for several years.

He was a longtime member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Narovec, who passed away October 1, 1966, and his mother, Minnie Narovec, who passed away October 17, 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Marovec of Lorena; son, Steve Narovec and wife Angel of San Antonio; three sisters, Margaret Narovec, Mary Nell Brookshire, and husband Phelps, and Rose Ann Washburn and husband David, and an aunt, Edith Narovec of Schulenberg.

Pallbearers will be Russell McMahon, James Austin, James Siegert, Brad Betts, Charlie Goodnight, and Matt Ballew.

Honorary pallbearers will be his beloved best friend, the late John Bivona, then Bobby Watson, Floyd Perry, Raymond Helona, Phelps Brookshire, Vern Hines, Dan Graves, John Buchanan, Gary Gobber, and Charlie Goodnight, Sr.
