OBITUARY
Edwin "Tex" Seith, 74, of Hewitt died Monday, May 16, 2005.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with Father Don Loftin as celebrant.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with the rosary being recited at 7 p.m.
Edwin was born December 2, 1930, in Elm Mott, Texas to John and Selma Seith. He graduated from Waco High School in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean War as a Rifleman with the 7th Calvary Regiment. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in action with Chinese forces on June 7, 1951 near Yonchon, North Korea. Mr. Seith spent 14 months at the Brooke Army Medical Center recovering from his wounds.
Upon his discharge from the Army he attended Baylor University for 2 years. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V.; V.F.W., and Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Seith enjoyed traveling and made several reunion trips with Korean War Veterans. He made three re-visits back to Korea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence Seith; and a son, Eddie Wayne Seith.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Guadalupe Margarita Nunez Seith, formerly of Guadalajara , Jalisco, Mexico; a daughter, Ana Margarita Cutrer; two sons, Juan Carlos Seith, and Frank Edward Seith; one grandchild, Brandon Alexander Cutrer; brothers, Wilfred Seith and Elwood Seith; and one sister, Ruby Faye Kreder of Elm Mott, Texas.
