Edwin Tanner

Edwin Marcell Tanner, 81, of Waco, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Paul Smith officiating.

Edwin was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Hill County, to Forman and Myrtle (Liles) Tanner. He was an Army veteran, and was a retired flooring contractor. He was married on April 29, 1942 to Connie Diggs. He was an avid fisherman and sportsman, and a great grandpa and great-grandpa. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Connie Tanner; two sons, Donald Tanner and Ronny Tanner; two daughters, Ann Henager and Kathy Carter, all of Waco; a sister, Opalen Whalen of Rowlett; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Carlton L. Tanner, Nathan McMullen, Tommy Tanner, Kevin Henager, and Scott Nutt.
