Eileen Mary Armstrong Haney, 87, of Waco, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007, at a Waco hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son, Father William J. Haney, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at St. Louis Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with visitation afterwards. Burial will be Wednesday 11:15 a.m. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation time.

Eileen was born March 25, 1920 in the state of Washington to James F. and Honora (Conroy) Armstrong. She received a B.S. degree in Nursing from San Diego State University, and was a Public Health nurse and Physician's Assistant in Tahapachi, California.

She served as an R.N. in the Navy Nurse Corps during WWII stationed at the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, and later was a Red Cross nurse. She served in the Peace Corps teaching nursing students in Molawii in Central Africa. More recently she was a volunteer aid at Providence Hospital. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

She married Captain William L. Haney of the U.S. Army Air Corps on May 26, 1944 in the Territory of Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lt. Col. William Haney, who died March 21, 1989; and a daughter, Colleen M. Haney Goodheart.

She is survived by her sons, Father William J. Haney OFM of Los Angeles, and Rory S. Haney and wife, Becky of San Diego; daughter, Noreen Haney Kord of Waco; grandchildren, Sean Haney, Allison Haney Roevang, Jessica M. Jones Parris of Houston, Sarah M. Jones of Fort Worth, Patrick Vitter and wife, Elizabeth of Virginia, Jennifer L. Kord of Coppell, Aimee M. Kord of Seagoville, Stephanie Jo Kord-Miller and husband, Scott of Roslindale, MA; and great-grandchildren, Stephen Jones, Jacob Jones, Rose Parris., Kord Edwards, Zoe Edwards, Mace Myers. Aubrey Miller, Brady Miller, Abagail R. Roevang, and Emma S. Roevang.
