Eileen Holzman

Eileen Barbara Holzman, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in Waco, TX. She was born November 15, 1945, in New York to Robert and Kathleen Krusen. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; son, Jerritt Freeman; stepson, Clint Holzman; sister, Suzanne Brady, two grandchildren, Mia and Zakary Freeman; three nieces, 1 nephew, many great-nieces and nephews; and friends whom she considered family and their children, her grandchildren.

Eileen truly lived life to the fullest, and her family and friends (and beloved dogs) meant the world to her. Her Catholic faith was very important to her, and she was always striving to grow in that faith. Eileen was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and sister. She was an amazing aunt who was adored by her nieces and nephews. She was the very best Meme, who always went above and beyond to make every one of her grandkids feel amazingly special, which helped fill each of their lives with precious memories they will cherish forever.

Eileen was the epitome of a true friend. She was faithful, loyal, and loving. She adored all her friends, so many of whom were like family to her. She was nurturing and intentional with those friendships and cherished each and every one. She enjoyed all time spent with her beloved friends. Eileen had a gift for making time for everyone in her life and making them all feel special.

One of Eileen’s life’s passions was taking trips and going on adventures. Eileen loved music, and to know her was to know her love of the Eagles. She loved having fun and enjoyed playing cards and other games with friends. She was an avid cross-stitcher and lover of books, as well as an amazing decorator. And as anyone who has visited her home during a holiday knows, it was like walking into a Hallmark movie.

She was a woman of strong convictions who spoke her mind and told it like it was. She was someone to go to for sage, no-nonsense advice. She loved hard and she gave that love freely. If you were lucky enough to call her friend, you were lucky enough.

Family and friends whose lives Eileen touched are invited to St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th Street, Waco, TX, on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., followed by Rosary and Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. to honor the extraordinary life of Eileen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
