Elizabeth "Betty" Barrett 83, of Woodway, passed away December 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. A rosary will be said at 6 pm Monday, December 15 with a visitation following at 6:30 pm at the OakCrest Funeral Chapel, 4520 Bosque Boulevard. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in New York at a later date.
Elizabeth was born July 13, 1931 in Mt. Kisco, New York, to Nicholas DePaoli and Margaret (Connell) DePaoli. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Katonah, New York, in 1949. On May 19, 1957, she married the love of her life Timothy J. Barrett and remained happily together for 45 years, until his passing in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband Timothy, her parents Margaret and Nicholas DePaoli, her brothers Nicholas, Thomas, Robert, John, Michael, her two sisters Helen Russell, and her twin sister Margaret Baldino.
Survivors include her daughter; Mary Barrett Dwyer and her husband Donald of Waco; her sons, Tim Barrett and his wife Sherri of Woodway, and Kevin Barrett and his wife Kathy of Dallas; her sisters, Rose Moravick and Mary Morley of New York; sister -in-law, Marie Barrett of Waco; and her brothers, Louis and Peter DePaoli of Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Mandy Barrett Rogers and husband Keegan of Woodway, Ashley, T.J., and Stephen Barrett of Woodway, D.J., Brandon, and Blake Dwyer of Waco and three great-grandchildren Mariah, Kathryn, and Brooklyn Rogers of Woodway.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. J. Bond Browder, and Missy Alexander of the Browder Clinic for their excellent care, Tammy Barton with Traditions Health Care, and her "earthly guardian angels" Mary Williamson, and Angel Chavez for the love, care, and compassion they provided her the past three years.
