Elizabeth Colson McNeel Burge, 78, of Hewitt, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Peace Lutheran Church of Hewitt with Pastor Steve Rynearson officiating.

Committal will be 4:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Elizabeth was born in Iola to Jimmie and Carrie (Ward) Colson. She married James McNeel September 6, 1947 in Richland. They moved to Navarro County where they proudly raised their two children.

Elizabeth worked for nearly 30 years at Texas Miller Hats. James preceded her in death February 11, 1968. She married Aubrey Burge February 14, 1978 in Hubbard. She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church. Elizabeth's life constantly revolved around her loving family, and she took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and O'Dail Colson; and father- and mother-in-law, Clyde and Nora McNeel.

She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Burge; daughter, Paula J. McNeel of Corsicana; son, Jim McNeel and wife, Marylin, of Corsicana; step-daughters, Audie Williams and husband, Randy of Lorena, and Susan Byerley and husband, Bill of Houston, and Deborah McCullum of Amarillo; grandchildren, Trey McNeel, and Amy and Christian Stewart; great-grandchildren, Samantha Stewart, Noah, Sydney, Landrey, and Luke McNeel; step-grandchildren, Ryan Rasberry, Rhett and Aston WIlliams, Annie and Sarah Byerley, and Shelby and Rae McCullum.

Pallbearers are Trey McNeel, Christian Stewart, Ryan Rasberry, Rhett Williams, Randy Williams, Bill Byerley, David Curington and Donald Citrano.
