Eloise Combs

Eloise Combs, 87, of Waco, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004, in Waco hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery with Lon Jones officiating. Visitation with her family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.

Eloise was born March 7, 1917 in Chilton to Thomas and Irene (Howell) Warrick. She was married October 6, 1941 to Earl Combs. Prior to moving to Waco 47 years ago, the Combs lived in Austin for 40 years. She was a member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ.

Eloise was a quiet lady who devoted herself to her husband and family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially liked to travel and make ceramics.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl Combs; two sons, Michael E. Combs and wife, Pat of Waco, and David Nick Combs and wife, Charla of Waco; brother, Ben Warrick and wife, Betty of Houston; sister, Virginia Daugherty and husband, Fred of Lindale; six grandchildren, Cindy Petty and husband, Brent, of Waco, Eddy Combs and wife, Jill, of Waco, Johnny Combs and wife, Ruth, of Waco, Christina Combs of Marble Falls, Josh Combs and wife, Alicia, of Round Rock, and Rachel Combs of Austin, and ten grandchildren, Clay Petty, Travis Petty, Miller Petty, Ariel Combs, Dylan Combs, Molly Combs, Kailey Combs, Breanna Combs, Madison Combs, and Chase Combs; several nieces including Tommie Mullens and husband, William, of Cedar Park, and several nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Eddy Combs, Johnny Combs, Josh Combs. Brent Petty, Clay Petty, and Travis Petty. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Smith, Louis Bowers, and Ken Gooch.
