Elsie Holl Vahrenkamp, 81, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Providence Medical Center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with the Rev. Kay Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 - 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Elsie was born March 27, 1928 in Cortland, NY, to Kenneth and Elizabeth Morse Holl. She later lived and attended school in Tully, NY before moving to Homer, NY, in 1946. She lived there until 1959 when moved to Waco. She married Elton Vahrenkamp in May 1970. She worked at Fab-Knit, Sears and then was secretary for 17 years at Service Memorial United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the church. She was currently a member of Cogdell United Methodist Church.
Elsie enjoyed her family, growing flowers, bowling, fishing, and playing golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elton Vahrenkamp; and brother, Irving Holl.
Elsie is survived by a brother, Ira Holl and wife Shirley; sisters, Dolores Lesnau and Louise Langreck; godson, Ronnie Richter and wife, Diane and family; and many nieces, nephews and special friends who will miss her dearly.
