OBITUARY

Elton "Buster" Vahrenkamp, 88, of Waco, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005, at St. Catherine's Center in Waco.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.

Buster was born March 2, 1916, in South Bosque to Fred and Melinda (Shroeder) Vahrenkamp, and lived in this area all his life.

He married Elise Hall on May 5, 1970 in Waco. He proudly served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, and was a disabled veteran.

After the war, he worked for 18 years in civil service at Connally Air Force Base as an engine foreman. He was a member of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church.

He loved hunting, fishing, and tending his flower and vegetable gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; godson, Ronnie Richter and wife, Dianne; special brothers and sisters-in-law, many special friends, and several cousins.

Memorials can be made to Providence Hospice or the charity of your choice.

The family thanks Providence Hospice and all the caretakers at ST. Catherine's Center for their wonderful care.
