Emmett M. Cunningham, Jr., 78, of Beverly Hills, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Father Thomas as celebrant.
The rosary will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Emmett was born January 4, 1929 in Paris to Emmett and Charlotte (McFatridge) Cunningham, Sr. He married Phyllis Hopkins on January 7, 1953 in Paris, Texas. He served in the Army during Korea. He was a bus driver for Greyhound Lines for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1358, the St. Mary's Men Club, Pro-Life Waco, and a life member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cunningham; two sons, David Cunningham and wife, Susan of Woodway, and Daniel Cunningham of Waco; daughter. Mary Cunningham Wolfe of Lorena; brother, Bill Cunningham and wife, Mattie of Reno; six grandchildren, Joshua Cunningham and wife, Nikki, of Willis, and Justin, and Jeffrey Cunningham, both of Waco, and Robert (R.J.) Wolfe, Michael Wolfe, and Christopher Wolfe, all of Lorena; and three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Taylor, and Trace, all of Willis.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1358, or St. Mary's Men's Club.
