Ernest Gaskamp

Ernest E. Gaskamp, 92, of Waco, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at St. Catherine Center. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Mesa officiating. Visitation with Mr. Gaskamp's family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Ernest was born and raised in Falls County, Texas. After returning from World War II, he had a long and successful career in the auto repair business. Throughout his life, Ernest was devoted to his country, his family and his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Fred Wade-Gaskamp; daughter, Diane McEachern and husband, Bob; step-son, Mike Wade and wife, Evelyn; sister, Eva Mae Rachui and husband, Bill of King, North Carolina; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Clark, Robert McEachern, Jr., John McEachern, Greg McEachern, Chantz Wade, David Rachui and John Ucci. Honorary pallbearers will be his McDonald's Breakfast Buddies.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorials be made to the charities of your choice.
