Ernest Joe Loa, Sr.
May 25, 1943 – May 12, 2024

Ernest Joe Loa, Sr., 80, of Waco, Texas passed away at his home May 12, 2024. Services will be on Saturday, June 1st at 11am at Oakcrest Funeral Home followed by burial at Rosemond Cemetery. The visitation will be Friday, May 31st from 6 to 8pm at Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Ernest was born May 25, 1943 in Tahoka, Texas to Joe G. Loa, Sr. and Epifania Gonzales Loa. He was the oldest of 11 children. He was a farmer all his life and farming was what he loved doing. Ernest married the love of his life, Manuela Ruiz on September 3, 1969, and together they had 5 children. Ernest Jr., Jimmy, Diana, April, and Margaret Loa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Sr. and Epifania Loa; brothers, Frank Loa, Sr. and George Loa; sisters, and Esther Loa Chavez, Dora Weatherford and Corina Loa. He is survived by the love of his life, Manuela Loa of Waco; sons, Ernest, Jr. & Karen Loa of Waco, and Jimmy & Blanca Loa of Texas City; daughters, Diana & Johnny Romero, April Loa, and Margaret & Timothy Washington of Waco; brothers, Joe Loa, Jr. and Mike Loa of Hawaii; and sisters, Consuela Contreras and Mary George and Ruby Fritze of Waco; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 dogs that he loved so much.

The pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard Resendez, Jr., Jimmy Loa, Jr., Anthony Loa, Timothy Washington, Jr., Nicholas Loa, and great-grandson Jamal Joe Loa.
