Ernesto Lugo

Ernesto "Ernie" Lugo of Lancaster, Texas passed away peacefully March 20, 2010 at his home after a hard battle with lung cancer at age 70. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Leibham as celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Ernesto was born February 21, 1940 in Runge, Texas to Severo and Cruz (Garza) Lugo, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, sister, Carmen Flores and brothers, Leonard and Inez Lugo. Although retired from the construction business, he worked as a baker for over 20 years. He was hardworking, loyal, generous, honest and dependable. Most of all, he loved his family and friends very much and will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Lugo; son, Mark Lugo and wife Susan of Rockland, Ca.; daughters, Sylvia Green and husband, Lamil , of Mesa, Az., Lisa Howe and husband, Bryan of Rockland, Ca. and Gloria Taylor of Santa Clara, Ca.; sister, Estella Chavez and husband, Richard of San Jose, Ca.; brother, Robert Lugo and wife Hope of Burleson, Tx.; uncles, Emilio Garza of San Antonio, Ray Garza and wife Delores of Freemont, Ca.; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ernie Flores, Freddy Flores, David Sanchez, Jr. Wade Berryman, Ronald Vargas, Jr. and Marcus Guerrero. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Sanchez, Richard Sanchez, Michael Surita, Andy Sanchez, Jr. and Bryan Vargas.
