Eva was born November 9, 1956, in Waco, to Delfino Samaniego and Jean Woodlock.
On April 3, 1976, Eva married John William McDonald. Out of that union, a son, John William McDonald Jr., and a daughter, Dana Marie McDonald were born.
Eva, referred to as ‘Nana’ by her grandchildren, lived in the Waco area her entire life. Eva worked for Kirsch/Levolor for many years before returning to school and obtaining an Associate’s Degree from MCC. Eva then went on to work at the Walmart Return Center before, retiring in 2018.
Eva was a wonderful wife, mother and Nana. Eva enjoyed playing cards (Rummy), playing the occasional slot machine but what she enjoyed the most was being a Nana. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Eva would attend all events that her grandchildren were involved in. She attended sporting events, school award banquets and regardless of how they performed, she always smiled and loved on them.
Eva was well known for her loving, and welcoming nature. As the host for many Halloween and Thanksgiving Day gatherings, Eva’s home was always open, joyful and she treated everyone just like family making sure everyone involved was included in all activities. Memories were always made at Nana’s house. Nana will be missed.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Delfino and Jean Samaniego; her brothers, Delfino Jr., and Dave Samaniego.
Eva is survived by her son, John McDonald Jr. and wife, Melisa, of China Spring; daughter, Dana Marie Hutchins of Waco; sisters, Linda Bates and husband, David, of Humble, Frances Gerick and husband, Robert of Riesel, and Lillie Garner and husband, James, of Midland; three grandchildren, McKenzie McDonald, John William McDonald III and Emri McDonald.
