Evangelina (Eva) De La Rosa Maciel, 87, of Waco, Texas, entered into Eternal Glory on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her residence.
Eva was born on March 20, 1936, in Cameron, Texas, to her loving parents, Francisco and Julia (Alvarez) De La Rosa. She was a loving and devoted daughter, she attended public schools and went to work at an early age, as was custom at that time. She met the love of her life and married Johnny Maciel. They were active in the community, being members of the BTA Soc. M.M. de Jornaleros, Waco Missions, and active members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Their favorite pastime was dancing to Tejano music, they were a handsome couple on the dance floor.
She was preceded in death by father, Francisco De La Rosa; mother, Julia Alvarez De La Rosa; step-father, Gregorio Ramon; brother, Eugenio De La Rosa and wife, Helen; sister, Cecelia Valdez and husband, Guadalupe Valdez Sr.; sisters-in-law, Olga De La Rosa and Maria De La Rosa.
Eva is survived by her loving husband, Johnny; son, Steve De La Rosa and wife, Lisa; grandson, Steven Robert De La Rosa; daughter, Yolanda Espinosa; step-brothers, Pete Ramon and Eusebio Ramon; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Laurie and Janie of Bluebonnet Hospice for their kindness and compassion. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Janie Rangel for being a true friend during our loved one's illness. A special thank you to Gracie Castilleja, Janie Garza, and Dora Gomez for their unselfish devotion in providing care for our loved one.
