Evelyn Hengst, 66, of Hewitt, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006, in a Plano hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 7, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 800 N. New Road, with Pastor Paul Krupicka officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Evelyn was born May 10, 1940 in Yorktown to Hugo and Florence (Muschalek) Pakebusch. She married Gus L. Hengst on August 14, 1959 in Houston. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was a secretary at Tejas Industries for 25 years. She loved flowers and enjoyed keeping a garden. The pride of her life was her six grandchildren who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-mother, Ella Pakebusch.
She is survived by her husband, Gus L. Hengst; sons, Landon Hengst and wife, Laurie of Waco, and Kurt Hengst of Dallas; daughter, Debbie Bukowski and husband, Perry of Southlake; six grandchildren, Leana, Nicole, Nathan, and Logan Hengst, and Reid and Avery Bukowski; brother, Dennis Pakebusch and wife, Janis of Yorktown; father and mother-in-law, Gus and Buelah Hengst of Lorena; and uncle and aunt, Edmond and Elvie Pakebusch.
The family expresses their appreciation to their friends at Saint Matthew's for their love and support during this time.
