Evelyn E. Roach Holt was born August 8, 1916 in McGregor to Fillmore and Lula Nancy Roach. She was baptized into Christ at an early age and was a dedicated Christian for over 80 years. She married Cyrus Holt on January 18, 1940. They were married for 53 years, in which she was a devoted wife and mother and labored alongside her husband in the work of the Lord's church. She and her sister, Novella Lane, shared a home and cared for each other the last 8 years of their lives and passed away within a few months of each other.
"Granny" loved her family and loved to make her best desserts, which no one could copy, especially for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; a brother; a daughter –in- law and her husband of 53 years, Cyrus Holt, whom she lovingly cared for at home during his long illness.
Evelyn is survived by two sons; Keith Holt and wife, Carri and Steve Holt all of Plano; daughter, Nancy Pricer and husband, Johnny, whom she loved as her third son, of Lorena; former daughter- in- law, Elaine Holt of China Spring; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.
The family wishes to thank Melissa Fry for her loving care for so many months and also the staff of Providence Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family has designated Monte Vista Church of Christ for memorials.
