Evelyn Smith

Evelyn V. Smith, age 86, of Waco, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at St. Catherine?s Center of Waco.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rosemound Cemetery under the direction of OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Ruffin, pastor of the Youngblood Memorial Presbyterian Church of Robinson, officiating.

Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Streator, Illinois, to Walter and Agnes Green. She was married May 20, 1936, in Streator, Illinois, to Edwin B. Smith. They have lived in Waco for 52 years.

She was a member of Youngblood Memorial Presbyterian Church in Robinson. She was a housewife, and had done some volunteer work with Providence Hospital.

She leaves her husband of 66 years, Edwin B. Smith; two sons, David B. Smith and his wife Deborah of Fort Worth, Lawrence W. Smith of Houston; a daughter, Diane Smith-Ellert of Houston; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The family especially expresses their appreciation to St. Catherine?s Center for all of the extraordinary love and care given to our mother while she was there.
