Fabian Garcia, Sr., 54, of Waco, passed away in a San Antonio hospital early Monday morning.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with rosary at 7 p.m. A memorial video will be shown during the visitation.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Those attending are invited to wear Dallas Cowboys memorabilia.
Fabian was born in Brownsville on January 24, 1952. He joined the job corps and served in the Army in Vietnam. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and he loved to fish all year long and play bingo.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Tovar and Olga Garza, and father, Fabian Garcia.
He is survived by his mother, Leanor Salinas; his wife of 28 years, Margaret Garcia; and his companion and partner, Jeannie Guardiola. He loved and adored his family. His children are Nick and Dianna Rodriguez of Waco, Rebecca and Adam Nava of China Spring, Fabian and Malinda Garcia, Jr. of Waco, Michael Garcia of Waco, and Angelica Salazar of San Antonio. His grandchildren are Erica, Jeremy, Rachel, Jessica, Brandon, Nicolas, Augustin, Ciarra, Fabian III and Aiden. He also leaves his brothers, Mario Garcia and Cipriano Avila, Alfredo Avila, and Frank delo Santos; sisters, Gloria Garza, Susie Sanpillan, Elida Avila, and Lydia Avila.
He also has an extended family in San Antonio that he also loved. He will be greatly missed.
