Faustino Delgado Chavez, 72, passed away Monday, October 24, 2005, at home.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Bob Wehrer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Faustino was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the Army in Korea. He was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church, volunteered for Meals on Wheels at Sound Branch Library, and was active in DAV. He had a bright, friendly smile, and loved to play Santa for his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Chavez; mother, Anastacia Delgado; daughter, Tina Marie Chavez; brothers, Vicente, Candelario and Alberto Chavez; and sisters, Nieves Chavez and Judy Forrest.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lily Chavez; daughters, Hope Gonzales and husband, Robert Sr., of Waco, and Connie Lopez of Waco; brother, Abelino Chavez of Los Angeles; sisters, Estefana Bedoy of Houston and Juanita Aftora and husband, Gary of Reno, NV; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
His grandchildren will be pallbearers.
