Fay M. McClintock, 88, of Waco, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Catherine Center. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Brad St. Romain officiating.

Miss McClintock was born April 21, 1922 in Waco to Jack and Fey Parker McClintock. She attended Waco schools, graduating from Waco High in 1940. Fay received her BA and MA degrees from Baylor University and Library Science Certification from Texas Women's University. She was an Assistant Professor for seven years in the Baylor drama department chaired by Paul Baker, and for 31 years afterward was an elementary school teacher and librarian with the Waco Independent School District.

Throughout her life, Fay, was involved in civic and church activities, among them the Waco Civic Theater, St. Paul's Episcopal Church Altar Guild and Women of the Church, Volunteers of Strecker Museum, the Historic Waco Foundation and many others. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, DAR, Central Texas Genealogical Society, Friends of Baylor Fine Arts and a life long member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. During her career in teaching, she assisted many needy students with personal donations of clothing and supplies and also was a generous friend to many others she met along the way.

Fay suffered a stroke in December 2002 and subsequently became a resident of St. Catherine Center. She had many friends at St. Catherine's and it became a true home to her. Her family wishes to thank the staff at St. Catherine Center and her physician, Dr. Gary Barbin, for their years of conscientious care.

Fay is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Lina McClintock of Arlington; niece, Kathleen and her husband, Leonard Depweg; nephews, Wade McClintock and Jackson Burnett; as well as her friends, Elaine and Cecil George, Rev. Frank Mangum and Marjorie Wentworth.
