Felipe Puentes, Jr. passed away June 24, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones, after fighting a long, three-year battle against cancer.
A Service will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 at OakCrest Funeral Home at 7pm with a viewing from 6pm to 7pm and a final service Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Oakwood cemetery. Services will be led by Pastor Aparicio Puentes, Sr.
Felipe was born January 8, 1967 in Waco, Texas to Felipe G. Puentes, Sr. and Petra Silva. Felipe was a loving and thoughtful brother to all his siblings; he loved spending time with his family and friends, but his proudest time was when he spent it with his children and grandchildren. Felipe was a hard-working man who put all his years of life since 13 into Brick laying, which he learned from his uncle Aparicio Puentes, Sr. He loved fishing, listening to music and singing, and spending time with his favorite cousin Ray Garcia. Felipe was blessed to have been married twice. He had four kids and five grandchildren. Felipe was a walking testimony to what God can do for your life. Felipe beat cancer three times and the fourth time he lost his battle against it but gained his crown. He sought the Lord and loved to sing for his honor and glory. Now he is singing in paradise, waiting to be reunited with his family.
Felipe was preceded in death by grandparents, Maximo Puentes, Carmen Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, and Catherine Silvas; father, Felipe Puentes, Sr.; and two nieces, Priscilla Puentes and Guadalupe Ortiz.
Felipe is survived by his mother, Petra Silva; stepfather, Epifanio Silva, Sr.; four brothers, Ruben Puentes and wife, Adriana, Jimmy Puentes, Epifanio Silva Jr. and wife, Mary, and Raymond Silva and wife, Gabby; five sisters, Janie DeLeon, Manuelita Puentes, Ann Ceniceros and husband, Esli Ubaldo, Cathy Perez and husband, Abel, and Christina Castro and husband, Reymundo; four children, Amanda White and husband, Charles, Felipe Puentes, III. and wife, Venancia, Nicolas Puentes and wife, Malina, and Anastasia Puentes; three granddaughters and two grandsons; wife, Mary Jane Puentes; and ex-wife, Elisa Hernandez.
